Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about scope, airport access, pricing factors, timing and materials.

Scope and services

What is the difference between aircraft detailing and maintenance?

Detailing is cosmetic care of the exterior surfaces and the cabin. Maintenance, inspection, repairs, removing components and returning an aircraft to service are performed by certificated mechanics and repair stations. A detailer should never do that work, and should point out anything that looks like it needs a mechanic.

Which services are available?

Exterior cleaning, interior detailing, recurring care and pre-sale detailing. Paint care, polishing and brightwork, and ceramic coating are proposed offerings still being confirmed; you are welcome to ask about them in a quote request.

Do you offer mobile or on-location aircraft detailing?

On-location service is the proposed model and is still being confirmed. In every case, service at an airport depends on the airport, FBO or hangar owner allowing it, and on suitable facilities. Each request is confirmed individually.

Do you move or tow aircraft?

No. Moving, towing or operating an aircraft is not part of detailing. The owner, operator or their FBO handles positioning.

Airports and access

Which airports can I request service at?

Requests are welcome for aircraft at Bentonville (Thaden Field), Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville (Drake Field), Northwest Arkansas National (XNA) and Siloam Springs, and can be discussed for Huntsville and the Carroll County area. Access is subject to approval by the airport and facility.

Do you have a hangar or office at the airport?

No. We do not claim a hangar, office or partnership at any airport. Work happens where the owner and facility allow it, once that is confirmed.

What do airports or FBOs usually require from outside service providers?

It varies. Common requirements include advance notice, insurance certificates naming the airport or FBO, compliance with minimum standards, and rules about water use and runoff. These are confirmed for each location before scheduling.

Pricing and timing

How much does aircraft detailing cost?

It depends on the aircraft’s size and type, its condition, the scope, the location and the facility. Quotes are prepared after reviewing your request rather than from a generic price list.

How long does a detail take?

It ranges from a few hours for a light exterior refresh on a small aircraft to multiple days for a thorough exterior and interior detail on a larger one. Weather, access and facility hours also play a role. The expected duration is part of the quote.

What should I include in a quote request?

The aircraft make and model, where it is kept (hangar or outdoors), the services you are interested in, your timing and a few notes on condition. Registration and photographs help but are optional.

Care and materials

Which products do you use?

Products are chosen to suit the aircraft, its finishes and its materials, following the aircraft and material manufacturers’ published care guidance where available. There is no single product that suits every aircraft.

Can you clean around avionics displays?

Yes, at a general level and with methods suited to the display coating, following the avionics manufacturer’s guidance where available. Panels are not opened and systems are not operated.

Will a ceramic coating protect my paint from corrosion?

A cosmetic coating is not a corrosion treatment and should not be sold as one. Whether a coating suits your finish depends on the paint system and the coating maker’s documentation.

Do the photographs on this site show your work?

No. Launch photography is licensed stock used for illustration. Photographs of actual completed work will be added, and labeled, as they become available.
